It has been a minute.
Greetings to whoever is reading this,
First of all, THANK YOU for being here. I have noticed that as we opt to watch content on video-enabled sites, we are losing touch, and our reading skills are slowly deteriorating. To avoid losing that and improve my English writing skills, I created the blog, and I thank you for reading whatever shenanigans come out of my mind.
Secondly, this week was extremely busy. After coming back from Mongolia at midnight, I had work at 8 am the next day. This was my second program for the summer, and I planned it for months. I am the type of person who would like to plan and execute my projects well and with quality. So, despite my tiredness, I pushed through and am relaxing now.
I don't run the program alone. Another teacher runs it with me. However, that teacher is like a little boy. His concentration is very short, and he doesn't know how to communicate well. I admit, sometimes, I wish I communicated more with him and spelled everything out to him. Then, I thought, we have been doing these programs multiple times a year for so many years; he must know how I operate. Then again, I think about how he manages himself, his things, and given his attention span, I feel like I am his mother. A mother to an older (than me) co-worker. Weird feeling to get.
But, I do get the credit for doing almost 90% of the job myself, especially this year. A staff member who used to help me quit this year, so everything was up to me from deciding on activities and making the purchase runs (multiple times). I prepped everything and asked my co-teacher to come up with a plan for one day. I DO appreciate him taking the kiddos to the gym while I prep the next activity. Another weird thing about him is that he always laughs when he is talking, whether he is saying something or other people say something. To me, that disconnects me from the conversation we were having, even if it was a serious conversation. Maybe he always feels insecure about something and thinks need to hide it, who knows? What I know, or rather decided, is that I need to be extra communicative with him on the programs we will be running and give him the list of jobs that he needs to do.
Lastly, we hired a couple of new people, one male and one female. According to the new female hire, I am her "work wife." I didn't know I was married until a few weeks ago. The male hire is handsome, and he said he is shy. He has this presence about him that I am not quite sure what to make of. We just have to wait and see.
Bye for now.
